The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
