Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a individual who jumped a fence and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating clip depicts the Australian man bypassing camera operators and charging at Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though legal records showed that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote another message on Instagram.
A number of supporters also faulted event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's videos.
In clips shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film version of the popular stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising friendship between two contrasting witches.
The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, earning several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
