FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
