Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Additional Developments
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
It said debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
